BCS brings postseason news from Dallas

After a two day meeting in Dallas, members of the Bowl Championship Series have expressed their initiative to move to a playoff system for college football. As of now, it is reported that all ideas for a possible change are still on the table; creating a playoff (+1) bracket is the general platform for most ideas. The BCS has released the following statement:

“In an effort to grow college football’s great popularity and success, we just completed two days of productive meetings in Dallas, Texas.

Fortner resigns as head basketball coach

At the conclusion of this season, Auburn Women's Head Basketball Coach Nell Fortner will step down after eight years. Fortner was named Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year and Basketball Times National Coach of the Year during the 2008-2009 season.

"I love Auburn and have absolutely loved my time here during the course of the last eight years. I have dedicated the last 28 years to coaching basketball and feel it is time for me to pursue something different," Fortner said. "This was not an easy decision, as I have contemplated this for several months, but I am looking forward to the change. I'm proud of where the Auburn program is and what we've accomplished."
